Don’t Be a Doormat

Do you think you’re a good person?

Well, this is a good-sounding term. Good people are the heroes who are willing to go over and beyond, and sacrifice to make the world a better place.

However, being too good, without reconsidering self-care might set you up for exploitation by some emotional marauders ready to strike at the slightest opportunity.

I’m not saying that you should engage in physical confrontation, but emotional strength works here, even though you should also protect yourself against physical threats since it’s a possibility.

The first thing you should do is be firm, and polite and draw healthy boundaries. Don’t just do something if don’t agree.

Most people who get bullied emotionally are mostly agreeable empaths. Just keep in mind that if you toughen up, and get firm and polite in saying no, things will get easier.

Sometimes, you’ll have to either evade the situation or directly confront the bullies. Don’t allow people to walk over you.

Otherwise, resentment will develop within and potentially destroy you.

I’m currently silencing bullies in my professional and personal life.

“Find that sweet spot between self-care and noble service to others.”
