Do you want to grow?

Whether you want to improve your relationship or upscale your business, many people desire genuine growth. The chasm however lies in the sacrifices that you have to make to yield the results you’re targeting.

In a world that’s filled with innumerable, yet unachieved desires, little emphasis has been made on the importance of growth through sacrifices. Despite the countless ongoing ravings regarding success, you probably need to pay more attention to the sacrifices you should make so that you can increase your growth patterns and success.

And although this might be seemingly out-of-reach, feel free to have a scoop at these required prices to pay so rapidly increase your growth:

  1. Time price

Time is one of the most essential treasures in the world. One shocking thing about time though is that it is irredeemable. Shockingly, every second that slips away is totally gone never to returnand there’s nothing you can do about it. But don’t fret. This reality shouldn’t awaken your fears and push you down the abyss of frustration and worry. On the flip side, allow this revelation to nudge you out of your delusion and stimulate your energies.

While everyone enjoys 24 hours every day, does everyone optimally use every available hour at their disposal? There’s something that’s more essential than your dream, and it’s action. So, don’t just leave things in the dreaming realm, but proceed to take action no matter how painful it might be. Whether you want to grow in your career, business or academics, the same principles apply.

Actions speak louder than words, so always seek to demonstrate your passion for growth more through your actions than words. And the good news is that it’s not as hard as you’re probably imagining. Ayodeji Awosika, a successful writer who started out and built a profitable writing system argues that when you want to start things out, you don’t have to begin from the mountain top — but by mostly focusing on what you have including the little time on your hands.

If you want to acquire a habit of reading, for instance, don’t stress yourself out by seeking to write for 5 hours every day. Even just a 10 mins daily schedule set aside for writing every day can make things work on your end.

2. Loss price

Loss is downright unpleasant, right? You’ve probably shrugged a little upon reading it. It’s something that we don’t want to be associated with at all costs. However, if you really want to gain something, you should be prepared for some losses ahead. Most top champions such as great athletes and footballers mostly overcome this giant in their minds before embarking on their quests. While they might blankly stare at the outright possibility of failure, they keep going, thanks to their roaring self-drive and passion for success.

If for instance, you want to start a product-based business, you probably need some initial capital to set the ball rolling, and profits aren’t guaranteed all the way from the start to the end. Regardless, you have to maintain an unswerving vision that will chart you through the murky waters of failure, so that you’d eventually get to the point where you’ll begin plucking the fruits of success.

You might lose networks and resources, but if you keep going long enough, and adjusting your craft to reflect the current demands in the marketplace, you’ll definitely make strides in your pursuits. Also, remember to earnestly pray because the bible in the book of proverbs says that you shouldn’t just lean on your own understanding, but focus on God’s counsel.

3. Failure price

Ariana Huffington, a successful author and founder of the Huffington Post and Thrive Global argues that failure is not the opposite of success, but it’s part of it. While society hugely frowns upon failure, it’s quite hard to envision a successful life without patches of inevitable failure along the way.

If you’ve been pushing towards your goals and have barely anything to show for it, don’t quit just yet. Stick to your guns and keep going because every time you fail, you pick something out of the tragic experiences that come your way, and you’ll gradually increase your chances of success as you soar your way towards the top.

Keep in mind though that not all types of failures can increase your odds of success. Failure borne out of a lazy lifestyle is meaningless. But if you fail while trying something to the best of your ability, then rest assured that this kind of failure will shape your craft, so you can quickly figure out what you’re doing wrong and get back on the right track as soon as possible.

4. Uncertainty price

You’re probably toying with great ideas in your mind. There’s a good chance you’ve even gone a step further to implement those ideas that you had in mind but you’re unsure of how things will pan out in the near future.

Come to think of it: every great man or woman battled with uncertainty at some point. Even the most confident people sometimes admit that they periodically battle with self-doubt. In one of her electrifying speeches, Oprah Winfrey pointed out that you should keep pushing towards your goals regardless of the fact that you fear.

Feeling uncertain means that you’re starting something new. And while it’s not the most pleasant feeling, it’s worth it especially if you keep pushing without fail. Better yet, it’s better to fail fast and tweak your strategies as you move up the ranks of your business or career. You might not see the other end of the spectrum but if you keep building, trust your gut and be ready to change your plans from time to time, you’ll progress.

5. Energy price

Are you trying to make it?

Granted. That’s a great thing to have in mind. Regardless, remember that every glory has a story beneath it. So, you’ll have to make some investments of time and energy to make things work. This applies to your revered dream as well.

Although you’ll fight some nerve-wracking battles along the way, don’t give up. You have to build momentum little by little to make things work. When it comes to optimizing your energy, you don’t have to overstretch. Just strive to move the needle slowly, and things will work.

Don’t just manage your time. Learn to manage your energy as well.

Sometimes you’ll feel like quitting, but remember that you can still make things work. You have what it takes. And if you feel that you don’t have what it takes at the moment, don’t falter. You can ramp up your skill sets and emotional capacity and make things work.

6. Delayed Gratification Price

Yet another cliche of delaying gratification?

No, here’s the thing: when you delay gratification, you’re not denying yourself anything. Maybe just maybe this places too much of a demand on your life to let go of what you love most.

But hey, in order to reach your goals, you don’t have to let go of what you love most. On the flip side, you just have to suspend it so you can revisit it later.

Delayed gratification means giving up something small for a greater outcome afterward. When you give in to your impulses, you might mess things up. But when you get shrewd and manage your resources wisely, things will turn out well.

Be more of a seed man than a fruit man.

7. Patience price

I get it. Time flies.

You’ve probably heard countless times that time is money. Sure, the clock ticks by mercilessly and you might fear losing precious opportunities. However, keep in mind that there’s much more to growth than just time. Just like you ought to manage your energy and focus instead of just time, it's only fair that you don’t beat yourself up because you feel like you’ve wasted time.

Even if you wasted time doing meaningless things, you still haven’t missed it. Instead of wasting time crying over wasted time, try to siphon the precious lessons from your worst mistakes. Such a decision can save you a great deal of time and energy in the near future. If you tried things out and didn’t make it, you didn’t waste time.

Try viewing it differently. You didn’t waste time. You just invested time and found ways that don’t work so that you focus on ideas with high success potential. Thomas Edison, a famous inventor in American history with 1,093 patents to his name was living proof of unmatched patience. While trying to make the electric bulb, he failed thousands of times before breaking through.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas Edison

Keep Growing and Glowing

Growth isn’t easy peasy. You’ll have to pay some tough prices in your quest to ramp up your life. But what will separate you from the rest of the pack is your ability to keep going despite the challenges that life throws at you. Trying things for the first time is hard, but the ride will get easier as you learn more and master your pathway. Pay these prices and you’ll definitely glow!
